Jaeger (1907–1979) was foundation Professor of Geophysics in the Research School of Physical Sciences at the University from 1952 to 1972, during which time he served a term as Dean of the School. During his period at the University Professor Jaeger strengthened the study of geophysics and geochemistry and suggested the formation of a separate Research School of Earth Sciences to further develop these disciplines at the University. |
